I have been working on something. Quietly. For months. Actually, that is not true. I have been working on it for my entire career. I just did not have a name for it until now.

It is called Zero Vector. Link to the site in the comments.

And no, this is not about AI. Not about prompting. Not about vibe coding or replacing designers or developers. It is about creation without translation tax. Building at the moment that matters. A new discipline for an era that does not have one yet.

See, for three decades I have been doing the same work under different names. UX. Service design. Systems thinking. The labels changed. The work did not. It was always about closing the gap between what you intend and what actually gets built.

The tools finally caught up to the vision. Not the other way around. We can now go from pushing a boulder up a hill only to have it roll back down again… to grabbing ahold of planets and changing their entire orbit. The roles and distinctions of the past are replaced, you do not have to be a “designer” or a “developer” or anything else, you are now a creator with a certain background and paradigm, but that does not define you. You define the work now, not the other way around.

Zero Vector is what emerges on the other side. Seven principles: direct manifestation, continuous context, systematic leverage, living systems, unified concern, intentional impermanence, authentic voice. Not theory. Doctrine. Forged across decades of building things that ship.

The Investiture Framework is the scaffold (core and shell architecture, not a methodology that collects dust). And we are building it atop ruins. The double diamond. Waterfall. The handoff culture that turned every project into a game of telephone. Red lines, wireframes, specs, endless lossy, entropy-ridden communication.

I respect what came before. Truly; I have known no other career. But those models were built for a world where someone had to carry intent across the gap between thinking and making. That gap is closing. Fast. And it demands a vocabulary, a doctrine, a discipline that does not exist yet.

So we are building it. This is not a framework launch. It is a movement, and all it takes is the willingness, courage, and determination to live up to the core Zero Vector principle:

Principle ZERO: Take from all that is around you and make of it something more.

Friday. Flower Power Hour, Episode 14. The first public articulation of Zero Vector.

"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."

Show up; the sea is waiting.
